DESCRIPTION :

Jungle Lore Birding Lodge Pangot is one of the best hotels near Nainital Himalaya. It is a 25 minute drive from Nainital, full of local culture, and opportunities to see a wide variety of flora, fauna.

One can see a variety of Himalayan species along the way such as lammergeier, Himalayan griffon, blue-winged minla, spotted & slaty-backed forktail, rufous-bellied woodpecker, rufous-bellied niltava, khalij pheasant, variety of thrushes etc. Almost 150 bird species have been recorded at Pangot and surrounding areas.The numerous perennial & seasonal creeks are home to an amazing variety of flora and fauna including the leopard, yellow-throated Himalayan martins, Himalayan palm civet, ghoral, barking deer, sambhar etc.

ACTIVITIES :

Bird watching:More than 250 species of birds have been recorded in the area. One can have excellent birding opportunities in the lodge itself. Besides, there are numerous walks through the terrace fields into thickly wooded oak forest which are extremely rewarding.

CAMPING

We provide Swiss tent & camping tents for birders who enjoy camping. The tents have common western style toilet & hot shower. Tents are lit with emergency lights.The Swiss tent has an independent toilet and a hot shower. The tent can accommodate two persons on camp cots. The size of each tent is 16’x10’

Amazing stay

We stayed here for 2 nights in October 2010. We went to Pangot specifically for Bird watching and we were definitely not disappointed. Pangot is around 17 kms. from Nainital, but it's mostly a dirt road. It's a very quaint place literally in the middle of nowhere.
The Jungle Lore birding lodge is an excellent property providing a surprisingly comfortable stay in what is essentially a very tiny village.

Spent a delightful extended weekend at the Jungle lore Birding Lodge, pangot. The views, the green hills in the rain, the complete absence of tourists, the not reachable cellphone and the abundance of Birds makes this the perfect place to exhale all the muck and grime of the big city and Inhale the sparkling mountain air.

Lovely place to stay

Pangot is a b'ful, close to nature and lovely place to stay. Those who are fed up of everyday's hectic schedule n life can go there and have a peaceful, transquil, quality time, away from everybody n every bad memory. Rooms are okay, there is NO network connectivity inside the rooms, if you want to make a call the staff...

The lodge had the most breaktaking views down the mountain and of the sunset which made it a spectacular place to stay.
