HOW TO REACH NAINITAL BY TRAIN

KATHGODAM, "The Gateway of Kumaon Hills" which is just 34 km away from Nainital is the nearest railway terminus of the North Eastern Railway which in turn is connected with New Delhi, Calcutta (now Kolkata) & Lucknow by train services. Lalkuan is 60 Kms from Nainital which is connected to Bareilly, Agra & Lucknow by narrow gauge.

Kathgodam is the last terminus of broad gauze line of North East Railways connecting Nainital with Delhi & Howarah.

Ranikhet express (Train Number 5013) departs from Old Delhi Railway Station at 10:40PM daily, it reaches Kathgodam at 6AM.

Ranikhet express (Train Number 5014) departs from Kathgodam Station at 08:40 PM daily, it reaches Old Delhi Railway Station at 4:45AM.

Sampark Kranti ( Train Number 5035) departs from Old Delhi Railway Station at 04:00PM daily, it reaches Kathgodam Station at 10:45PM

Sampark Kranti ( Train Number 5036) departs from Kathgodam station at 08:50AM daily, it reaches Old Delhi Railway Station at 03:25PM

Bagh Express connects Kathgodam directly to Howarah via Lucknow. Lalkua Junction 56 Kms. from Nainital is another terminal point of meter gauze and broad gauze line of North East Railways. Nainital Express connects Lalkua with Lucknow while Kumaun Express connects Lalkua with Agra via Bareilly. Ramnagar 65 Kms. away acts as an alternative outlet for Delhi & Lucknow.

Train No. 4319/4320 runs in between Kathgodam and Dehradun.
