Itinerary

DAY 1 RISHIKESH (340 M / 1,122 FT) - UTTARKASHI (1,158 M / 3,821 FT) - BY SURFACE / 209 KM / APPROX 5 - 6 HRS
You set out from Rishikesh on a drive to Uttarkashi. You would be reaching Uttarkashi by the afternoon. On arrival you check into your hotel. The remaining day is at leisure to relax and to acclimatize. Dinner and overnight stay at your hotel.

DAY 2 UTTARKASHI (1,158 M / 3,821 FT) / GANGOTRI (3,048 M / 10,058 FT) - BY SURFACE / 96 KM / APPROX 3 HRS
Today after breakfast you drive to Gangotri. After driving for 62 km you come to Gangnani where you may make a comfort stop at the hot springs. Those who want can have a quick refreshing bath in the pool/shower. Later continue your drive to Gangotri where you will arrive by the afternoon. On arrival you check into your hotel. In the evening you can visit Gangotri Temple for Arti, an evening prayer dedicated to goddess Ganges.
As legend goes, King Bhagirath used to worship Lord Shiva at the sacred stone, near which this 18th century temple is located. Ganga is believed to have touched earth at this spot. It is also believed that the Pandavas came here to perform the great Deva Yagna to atone the death of their kinsmen in the battle of Mahabharat. The temple is an exquisite 20 ft high structure made of white granite. Dinner and overnight stay at your Hotel.

DAY 3 GANGOTRI - BHOJBASA - TREK / 9 KM / APPROX 4 HRS
Morning after breakfast visits the famous Gangotri Temple. After your visit to the temple you commence your trek to Bhojbasa. The entire trek today is along the roaring Bhagirathi River. On arrival at Bhojbasa you settle into your camp. The afternoon is free to explore the area and to enjoy an excellent sunset on the Bhagirathi group of peaks. Dinner and overnight stay in tents.

DAY 4 BHOJBASA - GAUMUKH - BHOJBASA - TREK / 7 KM / APPROX 3 ½ HRS ONE WAY
From your campsite in the morning you get to enjoy the panoramic view of Bhagirathi group of peaks. After breakfast you commence your trek to Gomukh, the source of the River Ganges. The Gangotri Glacier, which is situated at the height of 4,255 m is nearly 24 km in length & 6 - 8 km in width. It starts from beyond the Chaukhamba cluster of snow peaks, in the neighborhood of Badrinath & extends as far as Gaumukh. Almost 16 km northeast of Gangotri, Gaumukh is generally accepted as the physical source of the holy River Ganges. Devotees who do not miss the opportunity to have a holy dip in the bone chilly water hold it in high esteem. On arrival you get to explore the surroundings & then trek back to Bhojbasa. Dinner and overnight stay in tents

DAY 5 BHOJBASA - GANGOTRI - TREK / 9 KM / APPROX 4 HRS - UTTARKASHI - BY SURFACE / 96 KM / APPROX 3 HRS
After breakfast you commence your return trek down to Gangotri. On arrival your vehicle will meet you & you drive to Uttarkashi. You stop for a refreshing hot water bath at the Gangnani hot springs. Lunch will be served en-route. On arrival at Uttarkashi you check into your hotel. Dinner & overnight stay at your hotel.

DAY 6 UTTARKASHI - RISHIKESH - BY SURFACE / 209 KM / APPROX 7 HRS
After breakfast you depart for Uttarkashi. On arrival check in at the Hotel. Dinner & overnight stay in your hotel.

Cancellation charges are 30 days before arrival date 25%, 21 days before arrival date 50%, 15 days before arrival date 90%, 7 days before arrival date 100% of the total itinerary cost.

Remaining balance to reach Asian Adventures at least 30 days before tour commencement by wire transfer (to bank account stated above) or by sending a cheque made payable to Asian Adventures to the above address. Alternatively you can pay the balance in cash upon arrival.
