VILLAGE
SAFARI
The
villages in and around the Chambal
Valley still retain their pastoral
charm, which is as beautiful
as it is honest. One can still
find a porter at his wheel making
earthenware Kullars (cups),
and saraiyas (bowls), much as
people of his trade have done
for generations. Farmers tilling
their fields, although the tractor
is more evident than the traditional
pair of bullocks. Women cooking
over Chulahs (earthen stoves),
using dry cow dung patties and
dry grass and twigs for fuel.
he
Chambal Safari allows you access
to all its and more by organising
Village Safaris to villages
near the Chambal Lodge, or deep
in the ravines, without compromising
the privacy of the villages,
and with the express permission
only. These may be accessed
by camel or Jeep, and provide
a fascinating insight into the
rustic charm of the Chambal
Valley .
