NATIONAL CHAMBAL
SANCTUARY
Location:
400 kilometers of the River
Chambal and two kilometers wide swathe
of the ravines on either side of the
river, downstream from the Kota barrage
in Rajasthan.
This
stretch of the river passes through
Agra and Etawah districts of Uttar Pradesh,
Morina & Bhind districts of Madhya
Pradesh, and Kota , Sawaimadhopur, and
Dholpur districts of Rajasthan. The
river forms a natural state boundary
between Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh.
The Chambal Safari accesses the Sanctuary
from Uttar Pradesh, at Nalgaon in Agra
district.
The Sanctuary's lower
limit is after Pachnanda near Bhareh
where the river flows into Yamuna.
